Caprese Salad Appetizer Served in an Appetizer Spoon.
A Caprese salad is an easy and simple appetizer. As long as you use quality ingredients you are home safe on how it is going to taste so the last thing you need to figure out is how you are going to serve the appetizer.
You could serve the Caprese salad on a bruschetta bread or on a crostini but you can also serve the Caprese salad in an appetizer spoon.
I use the teardrop appetizer spoon and I think it’s an impressive appetizer to serve.
The simplicity simplifies the wine pairing, as the Caprese salad’s appetizer dominant flavor will be the tomatoes and their acidity. You will want to stay away from big, tannic reds (acid makes the tannins harsh) and oaky chardonnay (not acidic enough) and focus on crisp white wines that will stand up to the acidity of the tomatoes
Remember one thing. Wine is not an exact science. If you don’t like the wines above do choose the wine you like.
